PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jello Belly (ranked 2010 p4p, 2020 weight class) and Kenjiro Tokugawa (ranked 255 p4p, 256 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jello Belly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kenjiro Tokugawa!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tokugawa lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Tokugawa takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A nice inside leg kick there by Tokugawa. That's going to slow Belly down.
Tokugawa misses with a kick to the body.
Belly throws a hook but Tokugawa blocks it.
Belly takes a swing at Tokugawa's ribcage but misses.
An inside leg kick lands from Tokugawa.

Belly shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tokugawa's guard.
Tokugawa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Belly passes into half guard.
Tokugawa wants to get back to full guard.
Belly tries to pass the half guard into mount. Tokugawa knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Tokugawa tries to roll over but Belly keeps him under control.
Tokugawa trying to hold on to Belly's head to control him but Belly postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Belly wants to stand up but Tokugawa has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Belly passes to full mount!
Belly is in the full mount, landing strikes.

It looks like Kenjiro Tokugawa has been cut.
Belly with the ground and pound from mount.

Belly get's back to his feet.
Tokugawa avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Belly lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Belly closes the distance and clinches.
Belly is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Tokugawa is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Tokugawa gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Belly regains guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Belly is looking to cinch up a triangle. Tokugawa throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Belly's body to avoid the submission. Belly has instead reached around Tokugawa's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Belly arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jello Belly!
Jello Belly gave a mention to FinnFighter Nutrition (Five 160Q supps!) in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
