The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Leary darts in and clinches Mikhailov up against the cage.
Leary is struggling to control the position.

Leary manages to pull guard.
Leary is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Mikhailov postures up and lands a big shot to Leary's brow.
Mikhailov trying to control but Leary is working from the bottom.
Leary controls Mikhailov momentarily but Mikhailov frees himself.
Mikhailov connects with a couple of short punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mikhailov lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Leary had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mikhailov defends it easily.
Mikhailov throws a big elbow that misses.

Mikhailov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Leary tries to strike from the bottom.

Leary throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Leary can do anything to dispel that myth.

Leary is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mikhailov is aware though and is defending well.

Mikhailov is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Leary has momentary wrist control but Mikhailov slips an elbow through the middle.

Mikhailov has hold of Leary's hands but Leary slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Leary is stalling here. Mikhailov is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Leary seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Mikhailov has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Leary takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Leary is still in real trouble! Can Mikhailov finish him?

Mikhailov lands a strong strike to the head of Leary. That's dazed him! Mikhailov looking to finish here. Leary is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Mikhailov lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
