Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whitaker swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Whitaker misses with a body shot
and Van Houten counters with a stiff right hand.

Van Houten was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

and Van Houten counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Van Houten is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Whitaker.
Whitaker throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Van Houten swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Van Houten ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Whitaker moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Whitaker counters with a crisp right hand that drops Van Houten! Whitaker lets Van Houten back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

It looks like Doony Van Houten has been cut.

Van Houten throws a lazy right hand but Whitaker sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Whitaker might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Whitaker lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Van Houten is looking to close the distance but Whitaker sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Van Houten crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Van Houten is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
