The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Franks gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Osipov postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Franks wants to sweep but no luck.
Franks might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Franks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Osipov on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Franks is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Osipov lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Franks looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Osipov seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Franks is trying to stand up here but Osipov is controlling him well.
Still in half guard, Osipov seems content to control.
Franks is trying to control but can't.
Osipov slips a nice elbow through Franks's hands, connecting with Franks's forehead.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Osipov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Franks with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Franks is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Osipov locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Franks is forced to tap!

Fedor Osipov decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
