Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Amadu Suleman (ranked 4644 p4p, 4483 weight class) and Manny Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burns instigates a clinch.
Suleman lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Suleman swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Suleman misses with a punch on the inside.
Suleman tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Suleman scores with a shot to the side of Burns 's head.
Suleman tries a body shot but Burns blocks it.
Suleman doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Suleman throws a head punch that misses.
Suleman struggles to land a body shot inside as Burns controls his hands.
Suleman misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Burns is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Suleman can't fight it off and eventually Burns manages to take the fight to the floor. Suleman looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Burns slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Burns is looking to stand up but Suleman won't let him.
Suleman wants to sweep but no luck.

Suleman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Suleman controls Burns momentarily but Burns frees himself.
Burns slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Suleman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Burns manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Burns misses with a series of wild punches.

Burns clinches with his opponent.
Burns blocks a body shot from Suleman.
Burns is trying to push Suleman away but Suleman has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Burns tries to pull guard but Suleman holds him up against the cage and eventually Burns drops back down to his feet.
Suleman swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Burns works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Burns controls from within his opponent's guard.
Burns won't allow Suleman to sweep him here.

Burns engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Let's hope that Burns has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Suleman wants to control the position but Burns says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Suleman tries to roll over but Burns keeps him under control.
Burns with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Burns .
Burns wants to stand up but Suleman is controlling the position.
Burns takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Burns seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Suleman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Burns on the ground.
Burns is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Burns is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Burns working the head and body with strikes.
Burns is taking a breather. Suleman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Suleman wants to control the action here but instead Burns manages to pass to full mount!
Burns lands a heavy elbow.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Burns has Suleman up against the cage in a clinch.
Suleman pushes Burns back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Burns has hold of one of Suleman's legs. Suleman is fighting the takedown attempt but Burns gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Burns is working Suleman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Burns is looking to stand up but Suleman won't let him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burns has hold of Suleman's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Suleman tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Burns cranks the arm and Suleman screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Suleman, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
