Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Daniels (ranked 3505 p4p, 5328 weight class) and Jeremy Marks (ranked 474 p4p, 572 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Daniels! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeremy Marks! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daniels throws a sloppy head kick and Marks moves out of range easily. Marks blocks a jab. A head kick misses from Daniels. Daniels clinches up with Marks and pushes him back against the cage. Daniels lands with a short head shot on the inside. Daniels lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Marks backwards. Marks's coach down at Temple of Fitness was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Marks's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Daniels misses with a hook to the ribs.
Marks wants to stall.
Come on Daniels - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Daniels blocks a body shot from Marks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Daniels lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Marks backwards. Daniels swings wildly with an uppercut but Marks uses good head movement to avoid it. Daniels misses with a short punch on the inside. Daniels can't find room to land a body shot as Marks controls the action.
Daniels lands a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Daniels scores with a hook to the body. Daniels makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Daniels has Marks pressed against the cage.
Marks manages to break the clinch.
Daniels looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Daniels comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. We've been told by Daniels's head coaches at Blacksmith MMA Gym πΊπ² that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Daniels misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Daniels tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Marks paws at him with a jab and circles away. Marks fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Daniels checks it well. Daniels darts in trying to clinch and Marks counters with a thumping low kick. Daniels throws a head kick but Marks moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A kick lands to the mid section there for Marks. Daniels misses with a body kick. A countering left hand to the body from Marks misses. Daniels throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Marks sees it coming and avoids it easily. Daniels is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Marks. Marks is trying to counter with his kicks. Marks throws a head kick that half lands.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Daniels checks a low kick from Marks. Marks is looking to land body kicks. Marks sizes up Daniels with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Daniels throws a head kick that misses. Marks lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Marks lands with a kick to the ribs.
Good leg kick by Marks. Daniels scores with a jab. Marks acknowledges it with a nod of the head. A jab from Marks does it's job there. Jack Daniels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Daniels is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daniels tries to clinch up. Daniels checks a leg kick. Marks is looking to slow Daniels down with leg kicks. Marks lands a nice looking body shot.
Marks looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Daniels looks to score with a jab to the body but Marks is just out of range. Marks only half commits to the counter leg kick. Daniels is looking to clinch but Marks is avoiding it.
Daniels tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Marks manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Daniels walks into a straight right hand from Marks. Marks keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Marks raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. An inside leg kick lands from Marks. Daniels misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Daniels throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Marks. Daniels misses with a body kick. Daniels lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Marks circles away quickly and effectively.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Daniels clinches with his opponent.
Daniels swings wildly with an uppercut but Marks uses good head movement to avoid it. A short right hand to the side of the head by Daniels. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Marks takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Daniels. Daniels misses with a punch to the body.
Daniels lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Marks misses with some punches.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Daniels. Daniels tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Marks scores with a nice hook to the head. Marks misses with a punch to the body.
Marks misses with a hook to the ribs.
Marks misses with a punch on the inside.
Daniels tries to work over Marks's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Daniels dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Marks tries to move into range but Daniels moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. The fighters circling - Daniels throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Marks fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Daniels manages to avoid it. Daniels is looking to clinch. Marks scores with a decent looking hook. Daniels throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Daniels moves forwards but Marks connects with a nice, crisp jab. Marks with a body punch. A glancing blow. Marks ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Daniels buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
That kick from Marks tenderised Daniels's leg. Daniels is trying to keep his angry face on. Marks takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Daniels shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Marks fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Daniels. Daniels just misses with a punch to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A solid leg kick lands there for Marks.
Daniels swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marks dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Daniels. That did some damage! Marks moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Marks. Daniels shrugs it off though. Daniels misses with a head kick.
Marks appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Marks does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Jeremy Marks seems to be getting the better of the standup. Daniels connects with the punch. Daniels throws a hook but Marks avoids it easily. Marks raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Daniels chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Marks can pounce on him.
Nice body kick from Marks. Marks scores with a head kick.
Marks with a nice cross. Daniels fails in his attempt to clinch. Marks lands a head kick!
This has been an exciting period of action! Marks lands with a slapping head kick.
Daniels is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. BOOM! Marks lands a beautiful left hook that drops Daniels. Daniels tries to recover but Marks is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Daniels lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
