Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brad Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Monks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nelson comes to the cage accompanied by Black Flood Diesel - Lost Cause. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Brad Nelson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Monks! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Monks is looking to clinch but Nelson is avoiding it.
Monks gets a takedown into half guard. Monks prevents Nelson from improving his position. Nelson throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Monks manages to pass to side control. Nelson regains half guard. Nelson moves into full guard.
Nelson has his foot on Monks's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Monks works his way back into a safe position though. Monks won't allow Nelson to sweep him here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Monks doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Monks manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Nelson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Nelson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Nelson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Monks wants to pass the guard but Nelson is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Monks wants to get up but he can't break Nelson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Nelson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Monks!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Nelson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Monks is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Monks and Nelson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Monks is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Nelson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monks prevents Nelson from moving into mount. Monks is looking for a sweep. Nelson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Monks has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Nelson but great work by Monks. Monks gets to mount! Nelson was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Nelson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Monks sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Nelson is working to get back to half guard.
Nelson bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Nelson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Monks is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brad Nelson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Monks looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Nelson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Nelson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Monks is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Nelson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Monks knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson tries for a kimura but Monks is defending well. Nelson working away. Nelson tries to move to mount but Monks blocks the move with his legs. Nelson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Monks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nelson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nelson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Monks is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Monks tries to improve position but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nelson tries for a kimura but Monks is defending well. Nelson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Nelson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Monks has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Nelson but great work by Monks. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monks is looking to take a break and control but Nelson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Nelson sneaks back into half guard. Nelson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nelson. Nelson pushes a forearm under Monks's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Monks is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
