Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Boy (ranked 2097 p4p, 5790 weight class) and Sophus Antias (ranked 110 p4p, 0 weight class). Antias has chosen Bro hymn as his entrance music. Big Boy has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Big Boy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sophus Antias! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Illya Tyunina and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boy throws the left hand but Antias avoids the punch easily. Boy throws a jab when Antias was well out of range. Antias shoots in and bounces Boy off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Boy wants to stand and escape but Antias is having none of it. Antias controls from within his opponent's guard. Boy wants to get back to his feet but Antias is in a dominant position and won't allow it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boy keeping moving, preventing Antias from controlling successfully.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nice defenses there by Antias. Antias has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Boy throws an overhand right that lands on Antias's shoulder, as Antias tries to avoid the shot. Antias tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Boy scores with a decent looking hook. Antias ducks under a wild hook from Boy. Boy looks to throw the jab but Antias is out of range.

It looks like Sophus Antias has been cut. A swing and a miss from Antias. Boy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Boy wants it to stay on the feet. Boy dips to his left and cracks Antias with an uppercut! Boy lands a nice shot that snaps Antias's head back.
Antias has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Antias there as he acknowledges the shot. Boy cracks Antias with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Boy has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Antias to stand back up!
That has opened up Sophus Antias's cut even more. This has been an exciting period of action! Boy throws a lazy uppercut
and Antias counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Antias throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Antias uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Boy. Boy throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Boy misses with an uppercut. Boy is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Boy walks into a left hand. Antias throws a hook to the side of Boy's head but Boy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Antias slips a jab from Boy. Boy looks to land a left hand but Antias moved out of range nicely. Boy throws out a loose jab but Antias uses good head movement to avoid it. Antias steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Boy. Boy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Boy avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Boy looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Antias uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Boy. Big Boy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Antias lands a really nice looking cross but Boy seems unphased.
Antias staying out of range there. Antias keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Boy. Antias lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Boy circles away quickly and effectively. An attempted straight right counter from Boy misses the target. Boy connects with the punch.
The cut above Sophus Antias's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Boy throws a jab when Antias was well out of range. Antias feints the counter takedown. Nice shot by Boy. Boy is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Boy throws a hook but Antias avoids it easily. Antias connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Boy momentarily.

Boy misses with a hook. Antias takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Antias tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Boy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Antias is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Boy. Boy stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Boy looks to land a right hand but Antias moved out of range. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
