Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Hokuto Akira (ranked 3567 p4p, 22129 weight class) and Miguel Sandoval (ranked 444 p4p, 644 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Hokuto Akira!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Miguel Sandoval!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Akira misses.
Sandoval is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Sandoval throws a hook but Akira blocks it.

and Akira counters with a big right hook, that lands right on the temple! Sandoval goes down! Akira rushes to a neutral corner to get the count going quickly. This one's going to be close! 3,4,5,6,7... Sandoval is up to one knee.... 8,9.... He's up! The referee says he's good to go, so we're back to the action!
Sandoval has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Sandoval gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Akira tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Sandoval's elbow.

Sandoval tries to work over Akira's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Sandoval escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sandoval uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Akira has time to react.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sandoval throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sandoval throws a nice looking combination but Akira bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Akira appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Akira avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Sandoval connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Akira momentarily.
Sandoval misses with a left hand
and Akira counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Sandoval has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
