Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Emerson Stewart (ranked 5857 p4p, 4320 weight class) and Sloa Poison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emerson Stewart has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Emerson Stewart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sloa Poison!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poison lands a glancing blow to the side of Stewart's head.
Stewart changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Poison tries to avoid it but Stewart manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Poison to the ground. Poison escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Poison decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Poison throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Poison has eaten all the pies!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Poison in particular looking to stall.
Stewart is doing well to control the position and prevent Poison from advancing to side control.

Stewart looking for submissions off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stewart is trying to control but can't.

Stewart slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Poison lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Stewart will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Stewart is trying to keep Poison in close.
Poison is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Poison postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Stewart is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Poison, into his guard.

Stewart passes into half guard.
Poison is refusing to be controlled, as Stewart sits in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Poison tries to kick Stewart off but Stewart keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Stewart is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Stewart seems to be looking for submissions.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Poison has one foot on Stewart's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Poison manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Stewart on his heels. He'll look to pass Stewart's guard now, I'm sure.
Poison throws a strike but Stewart rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Poison looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stewart is one step ahead there.
Stewart trying to control the position from guard on top but Poison is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Stewart's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Stewart wants to control from the top but Poison keeps moving.
Poison tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Stewart is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Poison is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Poison has escaped and now he's on top!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Stewart looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Poison stands up from guard. Let's bang!
A slapping body kick lands there for Poison.
Poison goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
A solid body kick from Poison.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Poison closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Stewart is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Poison pulls his head out easily.

Stewart actively working from the bottom here.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Sloa Poison dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Poison dives in and scores a takedown into Stewart's guard.

Poison stands up from Stewart's guard - Poison perhaps looking for a knockout.
Stewart shoots for a takedown but Poison saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

No luck for Stewart with that takedown attempt.
Poison looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Stewart looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Emerson Stewart. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Stewart shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sloa Poison is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Poison stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stewart swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Stewart working for a triangle but Poison defends it easily.
Poison has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Stewart trying to keep a closed guard but Poison is proving a slippery customer.
Stewart working a defensive guard but Poison manages to pass into side control anyway.
Stewart is trying to control Poison's posture but Poison avoids it.
Poison wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stewart keeps working.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Poison working the ground and pound but Stewart is defending the strikes.
Stewart tries to improve position but can't.
Poison cracks Stewart with a big elbow.
Poison working away.
Stewart sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Stewart is trying to maintain the position but Poison is very close to passing his half guard.
Well, if Poison is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Stewart looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Stewart wants to get back to full guard but Poison has passed into side control.
Poison lands a decent elbow from side control.
Poison cracks Stewart with a big right hand but Stewart just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Stewart trying his best to control but Poison has mounted him.
Stewart takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Poison prevents Stewart from getting the reversal.
Poison really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stewart. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Poison landing strikes from the mount and Stewart is in trouble!

Stewart is rocked!
Poison avoids the attempt from Stewart to control.
Oh Stewart is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Poison fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Stewart takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Poison's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sloa Poison!
