PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zlatko Cvitanovic (ranked 4384 p4p, 4300 weight class) and Darren Til (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Cvitanovic with that takedown attempt.
Til throws a hook but Cvitanovic blocks it.
Til punishes Cvitanovic's body with a nice straight punch.

Til manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cvitanovic on his heels. He'll look to pass Cvitanovic's guard now, I'm sure.
Til controlling from the top position.
Til scoring with punches to the head and body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cvitanovic working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Til doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Til manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Til has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Til postures up and lands a big shot to Cvitanovic's brow.

Cvitanovic controls Til momentarily but Til frees himself.
Cvitanovic utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Til slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Til stands up and waves to Cvitanovic to follow him.

Til drives through with a takedown into guard.

Cvitanovic pushes Til off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Cvitanovic lands a two punch combo.
Cvitanovic tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Til swivels and escapes.
Til avoids the head kick by Cvitanovic.
Til fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cvitanovic avoids it really well and circles away.

Til looks for a takedown but Cvitanovic sprawls well.
Til slaps away a takedown attempt from Cvitanovic, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Til gets a clinch.
Til tries to break free but Cvitanovic pushes him back against the cage.
Cvitanovic tries to pull guard but Til holds him up against the cage and eventually Cvitanovic drops back down to his feet.

Cvitanovic is pressed up against the cage. Til has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cvitanovic down to the mat. Cvitanovic avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Til stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Til wants it to stay on the feet.
Til throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cvitanovic.

Til shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cvitanovic napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Til looks winded!

Til has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Cvitanovic is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Til yanks on the arm and Cvitanovic is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Til.
