Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Lakes (ranked 4435 p4p, 4422 weight class) and Randle Matthews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randle Matthews!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Glass and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matthews dives in for a single leg takedown but Lakes sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Lakes takes the fight into the clinch.
Matthews tries for a takedown. No joy.

Matthews goes for a takedown attempt but Lakes pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Matthews is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Matthews keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lakes is trying to pull guard but Matthews turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Lakes has Matthews pressed against the cage, preventing Matthews from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Lakes tries to close the distance and clinch but Matthews swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lakes shoots for a double leg takedown but Matthews sprawls well. He's pushed Lakes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Matthews wants to counter with a clinch but Lakes pushes him away.
