Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nestor Makhno (ranked 3099 p4p, 3169 weight class) and Makoto Toda (ranked 378 p4p, 386 weight class). Makhno comes into the arena with Yablochko blaring out of the sound system. On his way into the cage it seems that Nestor Makhno has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Nestor Makhno seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nestor Makhno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Makoto Toda!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toda on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Toda misses with a takedown attempt
and Makhno counters with a straight right hand.
Makhno scores with a shot to the body.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Toda has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Toda fails with an attempt to clinch.
Toda changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Makhno tries to avoid it but Toda manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Makhno to the ground. Makhno escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Toda fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Makhno avoids it really well and circles away.
Nestor Makhno has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Makoto Toda.
Toda takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Toda has Makhno pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Makhno manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Toda's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

and Makhno counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Makhno closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Toda! Makhno dives in looking to finish! Toda is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
