0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ben Brandon! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brandon rushes Motta and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Motta avoids the elbow strike from Brandon, against the cage.
Brandon gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Brandon is keen to just control but Motta is a slippery customer.
Motta looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Motta looking for subs from the bottom but Brandon mounts him! Motta is looking to get to half guard. Motta is working hard here to advance position. Motta regains half guard.
Motta looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Brandon is trying to control the action in half guard but Motta is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Motta misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Motta looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Brandon takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Brandon is looking to stall here but Motta recovers full guard. Brandon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Motta is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Brandon rolls with it to try and escape but Motta cranks on the arm and Brandon is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
