Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Micah Hawk!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gabasa lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Gabasa throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Gabasa misses with a leg kick.
Hawk looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Gabasa misses with a series of wild punches.
A lazy left from Gabasa finds it's target.
Gabasa misses the shot to the body.
Gabasa lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hawk's sensitive parts.
A head kick by Gabasa misses

and Hawk counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Gabasa!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hawk is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gabasa has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hawk happy to just control the position for now.

Hawk is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gabasa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Gabasa definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Hawk working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Hawk is trying to get an arm triangle but Gabasa is defending well.
Gabasa trying to remain calm as Hawk controls from the top position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The strikes coming from Hawk are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Hawk wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gabasa, who protects the arm well.

Hawk working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Hawk goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Gabasa has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Hawk but great work by Gabasa.
Hawk is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gabasa off and has taken his back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hawk wants to control but Gabasa is keeping busy.

Hawk working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Gabasa is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Hawk has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Gabasa taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Micah Hawk!
