This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 42 wins and 11 losses; Shane MacGowan! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 18 wins and 15 losses; Long Wang! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. MacGowan dives in for a single leg takedown but Wang sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Wang has MacGowan pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Wang pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending MacGowan tumbling to the mat - Wang dives into MacGowan's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: MacGowan (0) vs (2) Wang MacGowan is looking for a triangle but Wang pushes his legs off easily.

MacGowan manages to regain half guard. Good work. Wang controlling the action here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. MacGowan is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Wang jumps into side control! Our spies down at at Average Judas Gym inform us that Wang has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Wang is continuing to stall.
That's ten minutes gone in the round. MacGowan wants to control his opponent's hands but Wang gets his hands free. MacGowan breaks Wang's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

MacGowan drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Wang dives on top into guard. Wang is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Wang stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. MacGowan swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wang slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Wang wins on points by 21 to 2. A very excited looking Long Wang made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction. |
