And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 25 wins and 21 losses; Chan Siam! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Bar manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Siam on his heels. He'll look to pass Siam's guard now, I'm sure. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Bar (2) vs (0) Siam Bar showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Bar's corner is telling him to maintain position. Siam pulls Bar in close to prevent any damage. Bar trying to control but Siam is working from the bottom. Siam tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bar wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Bar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Siam tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bar wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bar is looking to take a break and control but Siam is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. A lull in the action here as Bar stalls from top position.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Siam wants to improve his position but Bar is controlling well.

Siam trying to get back to full guard but Bar takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Score +3 for passing guard: Bar (8) vs (0) Siam The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Bar trying to control but he's not successful this time. Bar controlling the position easily from mount.
That's ten minutes gone in the round. Bar fails to advance to Siam's back. Siam is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Bar prevents Siam from getting the reversal. Bar looking to control and managing it successfully. Bar trying to control but Siam is having none of it.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Siam is desperately trying to improve his position but Bar has a good base and remains in mount. Siam prevents any damage by holding on tight. Bar looking to control but Siam is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Siam tries to hold on but Bar pushes him away.
That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Bar prevents Siam from getting the reversal. Siam tries to hold on but Bar pushes him away. Bar sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Bar (11) vs (2) Siam Siam stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bar swivels though and keeps the full guard. Siam controls from within his opponent's guard. Bar looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Siam puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
