This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 31 wins and 6 losses; Gino Gambini! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 14 losses; Gordon Plant! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Dean Styles and Jorge Garcia.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Gambini shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Plant pinned against the cage. Plant gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gambini. Plant clinches with his opponent.
Gambini has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Plant is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Plant has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Gambini seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Gambini's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Gambini avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
