Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Katashi Takahashi!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bishop throws out a loose jab but Takahashi uses good head movement to avoid it.
No joy there for Bishop, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bishop tries to close the distance and clinch but Takahashi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Takahashi tries to keep at a distance but Bishop has taken the fight into the clinch.

Takahashi breaks the clinch.
Bishop catches Takahashi with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Bishop scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Bishop looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Takahashi is fending him off so far but Bishop persists. Nope, Takahashi circles away and we're back to standing.
Bishop takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Bishop on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Takahashi lands an overhand right.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Takahashi lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
A jab lands there for Bishop.

Takahashi throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Bishop on the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Takahashi stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Takahashi swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bishop.

It looks like Tom Bishop has been cut.
Bishop is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Bishop is rocked!
Takahashi might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Bishop tries to bum rush Takahashi with a series of wild strikes but Takahashi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Takahashi is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Bishop had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Takahashi swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bishop.
Oh Bishop is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bishop on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Takahashi looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Bishop throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bishop seems to have got his legs back now.
Tom Bishop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bishop throws a nice looking combination but Takahashi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bishop rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Takahashi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bishop tries to work over Takahashi's front leg with a kick but Takahashi checks it.
Katashi Takahashi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bishop tries to close the distance and clinch but Takahashi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bishop moves in looking to clinch but Takahashi pushes him off.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bishop throws out a loose jab but Takahashi uses good head movement to avoid it.
Takahashi connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bishop's hands.

Bishop clinches up against the cage.

Takahashi manages to break the clinch.

and Takahashi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bishop looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Bishop attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Takahashi with a nice cross.
Bishop misses with a kick to the body.
Bishop drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Takahashi lands a big right hand that sends Bishop crashing to the mat! Takahashi stays standing though and waves Bishop back to his feet!
Bishop misses with a combination
and Takahashi counters with a crisp right that sends Bishop to the canvas! Takahashi follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Katashi Takahashi!
