PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ilgonis Bahs (ranked 5770 p4p, 3826 weight class) and Ravjeet Peitheiyan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ilgonis Bahs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ravjeet Peitheiyan!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peitheiyan walks forward, straight into a front kick from Bahs.
Bahs pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bahs attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Bahs fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Peitheiyan sprawls well initially but Bahs persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Peitheiyan kicks off Bahs and gets to his feet.
Bahs throws the kick towards the body but Peitheiyan avoids it.
Bahs throws a combination that misses
and Peitheiyan counters with a nice uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bahs tries to sprawl but Peitheiyan drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Bahs is looking for a sweep. Peitheiyan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Bahs is looking to control Peitheiyan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bahs avoid being mounted?
Bahs on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Bahs landing strikes from the bottom.
Peitheiyan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Peitheiyan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Bahs misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Bahs has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Peitheiyan is working away from the top position though.
Bahs is controlling Peitheiyan's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Peitheiyan is trying to control. Bahs wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Peitheiyan has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad The Island. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Bahs is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Peitheiyan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Bahs wants to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Bahs really is a fat lump.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Peitheiyan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bahs defends well and Peitheiyan ends up having to push Bahs into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Bahs shoots in and gets a takedown into Peitheiyan's guard.
Bahs is breathing heavily.
Bahs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peitheiyan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Peitheiyan can't keep his opponent in guard - Bahs advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Bahs seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Peitheiyan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Bahs is thwarting Peitheiyan's attempts to control the position.
Peitheiyan holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bahs wants to take a breather but Peitheiyan is having none of it.
Peitheiyan desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Peitheiyan moves into full guard.

Peitheiyan manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Peitheiyan has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bahs avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Peitheiyan gets control of Bahs's arms and successfully pulls guard. Peitheiyan will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Bahs might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Peitheiyan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Bahs trying to control the position from guard on top but Peitheiyan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Peitheiyan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bahs wants to control from the top but Peitheiyan keeps moving.
Peitheiyan wants to stand up but Bahs is controlling him.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ravjeet Peitheiyan dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Bahs shoots in looking for a takedown. Peitheiyan tries to sprawl out of it but Bahs keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Peitheiyan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Peitheiyan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bahs quickly recovers to half guard.

Bahs manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Peitheiyan keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Peitheiyan. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Peitheiyan fails to pull guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peitheiyan is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Bahs to keep the fight standing.

Bahs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peitheiyan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Peitheiyan is breathing heavily.

Peitheiyan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bahs doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bahs manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bahs wants to stand but Peitheiyan has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Bahs wants to pass the guard but Peitheiyan is keeping the position.

Peitheiyan is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Bahs has his hands clasped together but Peitheiyan extends and breaks Bahs's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Peitheiyan.
