Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paul Herrera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Oko Nawa!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Herrera wants the takedown. Nawa is fighting it off but Herrera persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Nawa's guard against the cage.

Nawa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Herrera gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Herrera decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Nawa, up you get!

and Herrera counters with a lovely straight right hand!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Herrera is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Herrera gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Herrera closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Herrera has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Nawa regains guard immediately.

Nawa has momentary wrist control but Herrera slips an elbow through the middle.

Nawa is working an open guard so Herrera takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Herrera thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Herrera is adopting a defensive guard.

Herrera is looking for a triangle but Nawa pushes his legs off easily.
Herrera has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Herrera lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Herrera gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Nawa has his takedown stuffed
and Herrera counters with a left to the body.

Herrera decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Herrera gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

and Herrera counters with an outside leg kick.

Paul Herrera overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Herrera decides to stand up, so the ref orders Nawa to his feet.
Herrera looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Herrera circles away from the clinch attempt
and Herrera counters with a two punch combo.
Herrera is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nawa can do to turn this around?

Herrera lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Nawa backs up against the cage.
Herrera stuffs the takedown attempt from Nawa. Nawa gets slowly back to his feet.
Paul Herrera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oko Nawa.

Herrera closes the distance and clinches.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Herrera has clasped his hands together around Nawa's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Nawa tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Herrera cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Herrera lands a couple of good shots and Nawa has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Nawa trying to control but not successfully.

Herrera is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Nawa is tapping out! This one is all over!
