Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tapad Amiga (ranked 24778 p4p, 24578 weight class) and Rico Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 30 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tapad Amiga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 28 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rico Salvacion!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Amiga will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Salvacion looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Amiga dives in and grabs Salvacion's left leg, looking for a takedown. Salvacion pushes down on Amiga's head and hops out.
Amiga shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Salvacion but Salvacion pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tapad Amiga. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Amiga looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Salvacion is fending him off so far but Amiga persists. Nope, Salvacion circles away and we're back to standing.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like Salvacion might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Salvacion shoots in for a double leg but Amiga sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
As Salvacion looks to move away, Amiga throws a big counter combo but Salvacion just gets out of the way.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Salvacion wants to sweep but no luck.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Amiga goes for a double leg but Salvacion avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Salvacion continues to drive forward.

Amiga drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Salvacion gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Amiga.

Salvacion tightens his grip and picks Amiga up, before dumping him to the ground. Amiga manages to land in guard.

Amiga is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Amiga has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Rico Salvacion will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Amiga darts in looking for a takedown but Salvacion gets double underhooks and turns Amiga into the cage.

Amiga is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Salvacion gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Salvacion is trying to drag Amiga to the mat but Amiga just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Salvacion prevents a takedown attempt there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Salvacion is looking to take this one to the mat.

Amiga has hold of one of Salvacion's legs. Salvacion is fighting the takedown attempt but Amiga gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Salvacion is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Amiga presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Amiga has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Salvacion is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Amiga is fighting off a takedown attempt but Salvacion is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Amiga to the mat. Amiga regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Salvacion is standing up over Amiga. Amiga looks to escape but Salvacion dives into side control.

Amiga manages to get back to half guard.
Amiga preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Tapad Amiga has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rico Salvacion is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Rico Salvacion comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Salvacion has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
