And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oystenteller fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Meril looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Meril looks to land a combination but Oystenteller avoids it well.
Oystenteller lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Oystenteller definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Oystenteller fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Oystenteller motions for Meril to come forward. Oystenteller throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Meril thows a left - swing and a miss!
Oystenteller darts in looking for a takedown but Meril gets double underhooks and turns Oystenteller into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darstknasset Oystenteller. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Meril.
Meril lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Oystenteller.

Meril throws a right and a left that Oystenteller avoids nicely.

Meril tries to move into range but Oystenteller moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Meril throws a good cross that connects.
Oystenteller cracks Meril with an open hand slap.
Oystenteller ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Meril moves away.
Jon Meril is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Meril misses with a left hand

and Oystenteller counters with a takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Oystenteller misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Meril can't do much from the bottom here.

Oystenteller is trying to get an arm triangle but Meril is defending well.
Oystenteller advances to full mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Oystenteller cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Oystenteller sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Meril is bucking up trying to escape but Oystenteller cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Meril tries to hold on but Oystenteller postures up.
Meril really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Oystenteller. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Meril is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Oystenteller is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Meril can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
