Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monti shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kota as he avoids it easily.
Kota shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kota was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Kota is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Monti is surviving well by controlling Kota's body position as best he can.

Monti decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Kota feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kota seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Monti does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

and Kota counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Monti wants to get back to his feet but Kota is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Kota tries for a takedown but Monti manages to get underhooks.
Monti breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
