Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Timo Leyton (ranked 1708 p4p, 1609 weight class) and Julius Lew (ranked 220 p4p, 207 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Timo Leyton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Julius Lew!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lew missing with a left hand there. Leyton was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Leyton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lew's waist but Lew gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Leyton off to one side.
Leyton takes a swing at Lew's ribcage but misses.
Lew throws a counter combo.

and Leyton counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Leyton cracks Lew with a solid left hand.
Lew has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Leyton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Lew escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Leyton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Leyton makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Lew looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Leyton lands a couple of digs.
Leyton distracts Lew with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Leyton stands up over Lew, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Leyton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lew is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Leyton keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lew's head.

Leyton has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lew is working away from the top position though.

Lew uses his free foot to push down on Leyton's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Leyton.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lew can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Leyton is looking to escape.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Leyton is squirming around, avoiding Lew's attempts to control the action.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
A nice leg kick lands there from Lew.
Lew throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lew throws a looping overhand right but Leyton ducks down to avoid it.
Lew keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lew thows a left - swing and a miss!
Leyton half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Leyton moves out of range of the strikes.
Lew ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Leyton moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A nice leg kick from Lew, right into the meat of the thigh.
Leyton displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lew throws out the jab.
Lew bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
It looks like Timo Leyton has been cut.
Leyton walks into a straight right hand from Lew.

A punch lands to the side of Leyton 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Leyton steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lew.
No luck for Leyton with that takedown attempt.
Lew looks to land a right hand but Leyton moved out of range.
Lew lands a big uppercut and Leyton crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Leyton looks OK. Lew waves Leyton back to his feet!
Leyton is rocked!
Julius Lew is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Leyton swings away with a body shot that misses
and Lew counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!
