Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Franklin Matthews (ranked 5603 p4p, 4379 weight class) and Barry Figueroa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Franklin Matthews!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Barry Figueroa!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matthews gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Matthews blocks a body shot from Figueroa.
Matthews drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Matthews tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Figueroa just stands there and leans against the cage.
Figueroa makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
A hook to the body from Figueroa.
Matthews is looking to control Figueroa's arms but Figueroa gets an underhook and turns him. Now Matthews has his back to the cage.
Figueroa lands a right hand that snaps the head of Matthews backwards.
Matthews tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Figueroa smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Franklin Matthews. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Figueroa looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Matthews tries to counter with a takedown but Figueroa is quick to defend against it.
A head kick misses from Figueroa.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Figueroa has closed the distance and engaged Matthews in a clinch.
Matthews wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A right hand to the body from Figueroa.
Matthews jumps into guard, dragging Figueroa to the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Figueroa stops Matthews from standing up.
Figueroa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Matthews. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Matthews is breathing heavily.
Figueroa stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Figueroa lands with a right hand.
Matthews is rocked!
Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Figueroa throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Matthews is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!
