Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Galarza (ranked 3274 p4p, 2931 weight class) and Kristian Baunegaard (ranked 376 p4p, 339 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Daniel Galarza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kristian Baunegaard! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Bruno Lombardi and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Galarza takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Galarza blocks a head kick by Baunegaard.
Baunegaard works Galarza's body with a nice hook. Baunegaard tries to clinch up. Baunegaard throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Baunegaard throws a one two combo.
It looks like Daniel Galarza has been cut. No joy there for Baunegaard, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A chopping leg kick lands by Galarza. Galarza forces Baunegaard back against the cage and clinches. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Baunegaard is trying to stall.
Baunegaard successfully pulls guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Galarza gets to his feet - Baunegaard follows without any prompting. Baunegaard misses with a double jab
and Galarza counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Baunegaard is looking to get back to is feet but Galarza passes into side control.
Baunegaard is not content to let Galarza control the position. Galarza creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Baunegaard is working to avoid the ground and pound but Galarza connects with a decent elbow. Baunegaard gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Galarza is trying to control the action in half guard but Baunegaard is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Galarza working over Baunegaard with some ground and pound. Baunegaard looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Galarza wants to work for an arm triangle but Baunegaard is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Galarza wants to lay and pray for a moment but Baunegaard keeps working. Galarza is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Galarza lands a nice short elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Galarza is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Baunegaard is just riding it out for now. Galarza eventually gives up the hold. Galarza decides to return to a standing position. Galarza drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Galarza works a leg free and moves into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Galarza moves nicely into side control. Galarza wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Baunegaard, who protects the arm well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Galarza has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Baunegaard throws a right hand that Galarza ducks under and follows up with a left that Galarza also avoids with ease. Galarza throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Galarza moves into the clinch successfully.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Galarza breaks the clinch.
Galarza closes this distance looking for a takedown but Baunegaard circles away. Baunegaard scores with a one two! Galarza had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. A nice combination there by Baunegaard.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Daniel Galarza will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Daniel Galarza's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Baunegaard looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Good standup being displayed there by Baunegaard as he connects with a hook. Baunegaard throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Galarza swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Baunegaard dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Baunegaard gets tackled into the cage by Galarza. Galarza maintains the clinch. Galarza holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Baunegaard is trying to force a seperation but Galarza has the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Galarza stalling the fight.
Galarza is working for takedown but Baunegaard is calmly controlling the position for now. A short left from Baunegaard. Galarza decides to pull guard. Galarza on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Galarza tries to get out of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Galarza trying to keep a closed guard but Baunegaard is proving a slippery customer.
Baunegaard trying to stand up but can't free himself from Galarza's guard. Baunegaard wants to stand and escape but instead Galarza has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Galarza wants to control from the top but Baunegaard keeps moving. Galarza postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Galarza stops Baunegaard from standing up. Galarza content to stall in guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Baunegaard keeping moving, preventing Galarza from controlling successfully. Baunegaard looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Baunegaard is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Galarza looks for a takedown but Baunegaard sprawls well. Baunegaard lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Baunegaard misses with a two punch combination.
Danga de danga de dang - Baunegaard scores with a four punch combination!
Daniel Galarza's cut is getting worse. Baunegaard is breathing heavily. Baunegaard tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Galarza manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Galarza gets a clinch. Galarza missing with knees to the body.
Galarza drops down looking for an ankle pick but Baunegaard pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Galarza. That's going to take a lot out of him. Baunegaard misses with a double jab.
Galarza is looking to counter the offense by Baunegaard and move into the clinch. Galarza takes a swing at Baunegaard's ribcage but misses. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Galarza. Baunegaard tries to clinch up. Galarza circles away from the clinch attempt and Galarza counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Baunegaard tries to kick Galarza off in order to stand up. Galarza Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Baunegaard wants to control but Galarza postures up. Galarza landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Baunegaard can't do much from the bottom here. Galarza lands a few punches from side control. You can see the frustration on Baunegaard's face as Galarza controls the position. Galarza advances nicely into full mount. Baunegaard takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Daniel Galarza will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Daniel Galarza's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round! Baunegaard blocks a head kick by Galarza.
Baunegaard unleashes a big counter combination but Galarza bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Baunegaard throws a sloppy head kick and Galarza decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Baunegaard's guard. Baunegaard is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Galarza dives into side control.
Galarza lands an elbow. Galarza is looking to take a break and control but Baunegaard is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Baunegaard tries to bench press Galarza off him but Galarza keeps the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baunegaard tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Galarza presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Galarza scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Baunegaard?
Baunegaard takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Galarza looking to control but Baunegaard is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Galarza lands a nice shot to the head. Galarza content just to control the position here. Galarza has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Galarza trying to control but he's not successful this time. Baunegaard is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Galarza locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Baunegaard is forced to tap!
