Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Justin Sane (ranked 4806 p4p, 4526 weight class) and Sam Morril (ranked 473 p4p, 466 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Justin Sane! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Morril! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jorge Garcia and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morril throws a shot from downtown. Sane moves away and avoids it. Sane throws a quick inside leg kick. Morril works Sane's body with a nice hook. Morril tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sane was well out of range. Poor timing from Morril. Morril comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Morril stuffs the takedown attempt from Sane. Sane gets slowly back to his feet. Morril has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Morril throws a jab but it's blocked by Sane. Sane keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sane is looking to clinch but Morril is avoiding it.
A jab from Morril does it's job there. The fighters circling - Morril throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Morril punishes Sane's body with a nice straight punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sane uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Morril. Morril misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sane.
Sane darts in trying to clinch and Morril counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sane thinking. Morril checks a low kick from Sane. Sane scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Morril is trying to get back to full guard. Morril keeps trying to improve his position. Morril is refusing to be controlled, as Sane sits in half guard. Morril wants to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sane tries to pass to full mount but Morril defends it. Morril is looking to improve his position.
Morril is doing well to control the position and prevent Sane from advancing to side control. Sane working the head and body with strikes. Morril wants to control but Sane is keeping busy and won't allow it. Morril keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Morril is concentrating on defense, preventing Sane from advancing position. Morril is looking to control Sane's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Morril avoid being mounted? Sane thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sane prevents Morril from improving his position. Sane wants to work for an arm triangle but Morril is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Morril is looking for a sweep. Sane is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Morril really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sane. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sane is thwarting Morril's attempts to control the position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Sane shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Morril as he jumps to the side. Morril throws out a counter right but Sane avoids it with no problem. Sane closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sane lands in his opponent's guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Morril can do anything to dispel that myth. Sane trying to control but Morril is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Morril is trying to hold Sane in close to prevent damage but Sane has managed to pass into half guard.
Morril wants to control but Sane is keeping busy.
Morril preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Morril is looking for a sweep. Sane is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Morril is controlling Sane's position as best he can from this difficult position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Sam Morril will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Morril fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Sane takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Justin Sane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Morril swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Sane tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Sane fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Sane with a poor takedown and Morril cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Sane looks to score with a jab to the body but Morril is just out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Morril waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sane. Sane fails with a takedown attempt. Morril swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Justin Sane. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sane has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Sane there as he acknowledges the shot. Morril has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Morril scores with a crisp jab that stopped Sane in his tracks. Sane misses the shot to the body. Morril looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Morril stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Morril wants it to stay on the feet. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Morril! But no joy. Sane walks into a left hand. Morril avoids the head kick by Sane.
Sane tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Morril manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Sane has his takedown stuffed and Morril counters with a stiff right hand. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sane rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Morril counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sane is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Morril thuds a left hand into Sane's body. Oh Sane is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Morril defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sane. Sane seems to have got his legs back now. Sane misses with a takedown attempt - Morril sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Morril ducks down and throws a hook to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Morril scores with a punch to the head. Morril cracks Sane with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Sane looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Morril finish him?
Sane gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Morril gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sam Morril! Sam Morril thanked the fans post fight for their support.
