Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Park Yo Ka (ranked 2014 p4p, 2688 weight class) and Scott Shotz (ranked 264 p4p, 348 weight class). Scott Shotz is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Park Yo Ka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Scott Shotz! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yo Ka misses with a lunging right hand
and Shotz connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Park Yo Ka has been cut. Shotz cracks Yo Ka with a good jab. Yo Ka throws a looping overhand right but Shotz ducks down to avoid it. Shotz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Yo Ka tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shotz was well out of range. Poor timing from Yo Ka. Shotz avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Scott Shotz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A looping hook to the body misses from Yo Ka. Shotz does a little dance to reset his feet. It seemed like Shotz was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Shotz avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Yo Ka staying out of range there. Yo Ka closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Yo Ka has knee on belly and moves into mount. Yo Ka looking to secure an arm triangle but Shotz defends it well. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shotz tries to reverse the position but Yo Ka maintains control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yo Ka trying to control but Shotz is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yo Ka has control of Shotz's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Shotz regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Yo Ka throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Shotz because Yo Ka loaded up on that one. Shotz has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Shotz tries to reverse the position but Yo Ka maintains control. Yo Ka jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Shotz is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Shotz and Yo Ka has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Yo Ka tries to move to mount but Shotz blocks the move with his legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Yo Ka working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Shotz is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Yo Ka's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Yo Ka seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shotz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Yo Ka maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Shotz could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Yo Ka has cracked it and Shotz is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Yo Ka!
