Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Stan Miertrer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Rutten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stan Miertrer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Rutten! The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rutten stuffs the takedown. Miertrer misses with a takedown attempt - Rutten sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Rutten is looking to clinch but Miertrer is avoiding it.
Rutten clinches with his opponent.
Rutten's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rutten closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Rutten jumps guard.
Miertrer pushes down on Rutten's leg and manages to get into half guard. Miertrer thows a huge punch but Rutten dodges it nicely.
Rutten wants to control but Miertrer passes into side.
Rutten wants to get back to his feet but Miertrer drags him back down. Miertrer working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Miertrer lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Rutten down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miertrer trying to control the position but Rutten is working away. Rutten really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Miertrer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rutten is trying to get back to half guard. Rutten is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Miertrer decides to stand back up. Rutten throws a sloppy head kick and Miertrer moves out of range easily. Miertrer keeps the fight on the outside. Rutten darts in and clinches Miertrer up against the cage. Miertrer changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rutten fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stan Miertrer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rutten closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Miertrer to the mat! Miertrer manages to get full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rutten drops back, looking for a kneebar! Miertrer looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Miertrer looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Miertrer! Rutten is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Rutten looks gassed! Miertrer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rutten keeps working. Rutten is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Miertrer is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Miertrer looking to control and managing it successfully. Rutten is desperately trying to improve his position but Miertrer has a good base and remains in mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rutten is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Miertrer lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Miertrer takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Rutten wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miertrer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rutten is looking to escape. Miertrer controlling from the full mount. Miertrer is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rutten has managed to clinch.
Rutten tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Miertrer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Miertrer. Rutten circles away from the clinch attempt.
Miertrer will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Rutten tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Joe Rutten seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rutten gets caught flat footed, as Miertrer shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Miertrer sitting in guard here, content to control. Miertrer works a leg free and moves into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stan Miertrer dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Miertrer misses with an uppercut. Rutten saw that one coming. Rutten fails in his attempt to clinch. Miertrer closes the distance but Rutten moves to the side and Rutten counters with a left and a right that stings Miertrer. A head kick misses from Rutten. Rutten tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Rutten has closed the distance and engaged Miertrer in a clinch.
Rutten creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Miertrer's defenses. Rutten manages to break the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rutten looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Rutten misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Miertrer.
Miertrer tries for a takedown but Rutten circles away easily and Rutten counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rutten. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Rutten just misses with a elbow thrown towards Miertrer's brow. Rutten is breathing heavily. Miertrer jumps guard but Rutten stands there with Miertrer around his waist. Miertrer gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Rutten pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miertrer shoots in and bounces Rutten off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Rutten can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Miertrer controls the pace. Rutten looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Miertrer is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Miertrer stands and steps away. Rutten gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Miertrer closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Miertrer wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rutten has him pressed against the cage. Miertrer can't break the clinch.
Rutten drops down looking for an ankle pick but Miertrer pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miertrer throws a head kick but Rutten moves out of range.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Miertrer. Miertrer in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Miertrer advances to full mount. Miertrer working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Rutten looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Miertrer! Submission of the night perhaps?
