Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Krenin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rico Carandang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krenin comes to the cage accompanied by This is my head explodeing. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Krenin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rico Carandang! The judges for this bout are , and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carandang moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Carandang misses with a body kick. Krenin could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Krenin shoots in looking for a takedown. Carandang tries to sprawl out of it but Krenin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carandang manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Rico Carandang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carandang misses the shot to the body. Krenin shoots for a double leg takedown but Carandang sprawls well. He's pushed Krenin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Krenin showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Carandang.
Krenin takes one to the side of the head.
Krenin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Carandang sprawls well initially but Krenin persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Carandang is not content to let Krenin control the position. Krenin sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Carandang defending well though. Carandang is looking to improve his position.
Carandang looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Krenin lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Krenin trying to control the pace. Krenin is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Krenin takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Carandang avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Krenin.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carandang tries to kick Krenin off but Krenin keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Krenin keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Krenin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Carandang sees it coming and defends easily. Krenin is pressing down on Carandang's thigh, looking to free his foot. Carandang is holding on for now. Krenin landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Krenin keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Krenin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Carandang with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Krenin connects with a nice short shot to Carandang's temple. Krenin slips a nice elbow through Carandang's hands, connecting with Carandang's forehead. Krenin is working for a submission of some sort.
Carandang is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Krenin scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Krenin has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Carandang defend it? Krenin steps over the head and cranks it - Carandang is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Krenin!
