Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucas McCain (ranked 1019 p4p, 1208 weight class) and Shape Shifter (ranked 147 p4p, 183 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Lucas McCain !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Shape Shifter!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCain throws a lazy body kick

and Shifter decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McCain 's guard.

McCain has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Shifter off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
McCain tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shifter was well out of range. Poor timing from McCain .
McCain fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shifter manages to avoid it.
McCain throws a body punch but Shifter moves out of range.
Shifter tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
McCain has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Rivers Edge Gym in the buildup to the fight.
A clash of legs there as Shifter blocks the low kick.
McCain misses with a leg kick

and Shifter counters with a shoot takedown. McCain fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shifter is looking to pass into half guard but McCain pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now McCain is in guard.

Shifter throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! McCain escapes and throws Shifter's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Shifter is looking for a sweep.

McCain moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Shifter.

McCain decides to take the fight back to the feet.
McCain misses with a double jab

and Shifter counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for McCain !

Shifter wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McCain , who protects the arm well.
McCain wants to get back to his feet.

Shifter is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. McCain knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Shifter goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, McCain has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Shifter but great work by McCain .

McCain knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shifter on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McCain avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Our spies down at at London MMA Club inform us that Shifter has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

McCain gets to his feet - Shifter follows without any prompting.
McCain fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shifter manages to avoid it.
Shifter tries to counter with a clinch but McCain shakes him off and moves away.
McCain scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Shifter doesn't seem bothered though.
Shifter uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from McCain .

Shifter changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
McCain jabs Shifter right on the nose. Shifter blinks but takes it well.

Shifter shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McCain sprawls well. McCain wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shifter gets slowly back to his feet.
Shifter takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
McCain lets loose with a powerful body kick. Shifter will feel that in the morning.
McCain ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shifter moves away.

McCain gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shifter to score an easy takedown into full guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Shifter postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! McCain is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shifter, into his guard.

Oh but Shifter is tightening it up a little... McCain has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! McCain reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! McCain taps out! Nice BJJ there by Shifter!
