The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bullard tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bates was well out of range. Poor timing from Bullard.
Bates feinted with a counter takedown.
Bullard throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bates circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bates slips under a jab from Bullard.
Bates jabs at Bullard's body.
Bullard fails to land with a series of punches.
Bates swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bates accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That was a close round but I would say that Henry Bates will probably get the nod.

Bullard now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Bullard darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bullard has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Bates seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Bullard can turn it around.

Bates manages to get his head free but now Bullard has transitioned to an armbar! Bates grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Bullard! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
