Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Oliver Watts (ranked 3852 p4p, 6104 weight class) and Davo Mate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Mate.
Watts moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

It looks like Oliver Watts has been cut.
Watts lands a two punch combo.
Mate throws a head kick but Watts moves out of range.
Mate pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Davo Mate seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mate tries to bum rush Watts with a series of wild strikes but Watts uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Watts connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Watts misses with an uppercut.
Watts tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mate was well out of range. Poor timing from Watts.

Mate throws a shot from downtown. Watts moves away and avoids it.

Mate looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Mate throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Watts tries to counter by clinching up but Mate breaks away and moves out of range.
Watts misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Mate throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Watts stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Mate follows into mount!
Oh Watts is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mate is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Watts is looking to get to half guard.
Mate tries to get up but Watts was controlling his body and he's reversed into guard.
Mate is looking to stand up but Watts isn't so interested in that idea.

Mate wriggles free and stands up.

Watts lands a nice leg kick that just misses Mate's sensitive parts.
Mate throws a head kick that misses.
Watts avoids a punch combination nicely.

and Watts counters with a stiff right hand.
Watts misses with a body shot.
Watts seems to have got his legs back now.
Mate misses with a jab, cross combination.
Watts fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mate on the side of the head.
Mate walks into a left hand.
Watts darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Watts lands with an uppercut that bounces Mate off the cage and back into range.
Mate throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Watts moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Watts listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Nice body punch from Watts.
Mate throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Watts lands a body shot.
Mate tries to move into range but Watts moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
The fighters circle momentarily. Watts darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Watts feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Mates jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Watts scores with a jab to the head.
A lazy body kick from Mate
and Mate takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Watts fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Nice uppercut lands for Watts. That snapped Mate's head back.
Mate tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Mate has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Watts.
Watts connects with a jab.
Watts's corner calls for a 1-2. Watts obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Mate is rocked!
Mate takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Mate thows a leg kick but Watts checks it
and Watts connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Mate is still on wobbly legs! Can Watts finish him?

Watts feints and then cracks Mate's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mate down.
Watts connects with a right that clearly hurt Mate. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Watts proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Mate collapses and taps out under the pressure!
