The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Charles throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Gibbons uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Charles.
Charles ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gibbons moves away.
Gibbons scores with a hook to the body. Charles takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Charles throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Gibbons connects with a good right hand that stumbles Charles. Charles circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Charles looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Gibbons lands a jab to Charles's midsection.
Gibbons's coach down at Temple of Fitness was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Gibbons's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Charles changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gibbons looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Charles walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Gibbons wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Charles manages to pass to side control.

Charles is trying to work for a kimura but Gibbons is defending well.

Gibbons is looking to control Charles's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gibbons avoid being mounted?

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Charles lands a nice short elbow.

Charles tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Charles moves to take his opponent's back.

Gibbons is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Charles is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Gibbons with him. Gibbons is trying to defend but Charles has an arm under the chin now! Gibbons grimaces and is forced to tap out!
