Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dave McDonald (ranked 2681 p4p, 3695 weight class) and Rudolf Meine (ranked 335 p4p, 418 weight class). McDonald kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Raise Your Horns - Amon Amarth. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meine lands a nice looking body shot.
Meine thumps McDonald with a low kick.
McDonald lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Meine lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
McDonald throws a shot from downtown. Meine moves away and avoids it.
McDonald throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Meine throws the kick towards the body but McDonald avoids it.
McDonald has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Ludus Magnus in the buildup to the fight.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from McDonald.
Meine tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. McDonald manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
McDonald moves out of range as Meine strikes.
McDonald catches Meine with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
McDonald takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Meine moves into range and clinches up with McDonald.

Meine tries to pull guard but McDonald forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

McDonald tries to throw a body punch but Meine avoids it by throwing McDonald back against the cage.
Meine works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
McDonald misses with the head strike.
McDonald swings wildly with an uppercut but Meine uses good head movement to avoid it.
Meine doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Meine tries to pull guard but McDonald holds him up against the cage and eventually Meine drops back down to his feet.
Meine lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Meine jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McDonald walks away with a smile on his face. Meine gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Dave McDonald has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rudolf Meine.
Meine swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Meine throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent McDonald stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Meine moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

McDonald looks to throw the jab but Meine is out of range.

Meine moves into the clinch.

McDonald drags the fight down to the ground.

Meine drops back looking for a leg! McDonald is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McDonald manages to kick Meine off! Meine jumps back into McDonald's guard.
McDonald controls Meine momentarily but Meine frees himself.

Meine wants to control from the top but McDonald keeps moving.
Meine tries to free his leg and advance position but McDonald is retaining full guard.

Meine is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! McDonald is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! McDonald has escaped and now he's on top!

McDonald goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Meine has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for McDonald but great work by Meine.

Meine has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Meine throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

McDonald uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Meine.
McDonald was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

McDonald is looking to take a break and control but Meine is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
