Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rory Guiness (ranked 3043 p4p, 4423 weight class) and Dylan Batt (ranked 256 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rory Guiness!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dylan Batt!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batt lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Guiness backs up against the cage.
A right-left combo lands from Batt.

Guiness instigates a clinch.

Guiness breaks from the clinch.
A head kick by Guiness misses
and Batt counters with a nice leg kick.

Guiness moves into the clinch successfully.
Guiness prevents Batt from breaking the clinch.
Batt is trying to pull guard but Guiness has him pressed against the cage.
Batt wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Guiness breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Guiness lands a lovely overhand right.

It looks like Dylan Batt has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Batt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Guiness as he jumps to the side.

Guiness takes the fight into the clinch.
Batt is pressed up against the cage. Guiness has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Batt down to the mat. Batt avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Batt tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Guiness defends well and Batt ends up having to push Guiness into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Rory Guiness has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dylan Batt.
Guiness looks for the body kick but Batt saw that one coming.
Guiness has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Batt.
Guiness throws a sloppy head kick and Batt moves out of range easily.

Batt closes the distance and clinches up with Guiness, looking for a takedown. Batt pushes Guiness against the cage but Guiness circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Batt drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Guiness gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Guiness escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Batt feints and then cracks Guiness's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Guiness down.
Batt blocks a head kick by Guiness.
Batt is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Guiness misses with a wild body shot.
Guiness circles away from the clinch attempt.

Guiness shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Batt napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Batt throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Good exchange - Guiness coming out on top.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Guiness escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Batt checks a low kick from Guiness.

Guiness closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Guiness looks to score with a jab to the body but Batt is just out of range.

so Guiness counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Batt can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Guiness controls the pace.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Batt shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Guiness sprawls well. Guiness wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Batt gets slowly back to his feet.
Guiness misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Guiness tests Batt's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Nice takedown defense from Guiness. No joy for Batt on that attempt.

Guiness is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Batt can do to turn this around?

Batt tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Guiness swivels and escapes.

and Guiness counters with a big uppercut that knocks Batt off his feet! Guiness dives into side control looking to finish!
Guiness cracks Batt with a big right hand but Batt just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Guiness knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Batt on the ground.
Batt is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Guiness is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Guiness breaks from Batt's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Batt tries to lock up and control but Guiness gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Guiness takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Guiness scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Batt tries to hold on but Guiness postures up.

Guiness lands a big elbow.
Batt tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Guiness in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Rory Guiness overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Guiness takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Guiness seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Batt for as long as he can get away with.

Batt has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Guiness after a bit of a struggle.
Batt has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Guiness is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Batt shoots for a double leg takedown but Guiness sprawls well. He's pushed Batt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Guiness stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Batt swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Guiness throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Batt fails with a takedown attempt.

Guiness decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Guiness is controlling the pace.
More hug and hope from Guiness.

Guiness is thwarting Batt's attempts to control the position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Batt takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Guiness changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Batt looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Batt is working to avoid the ground and pound but Guiness connects with a decent elbow.
