Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thor Flex (ranked 2839 p4p, 2627 weight class) and Lorenz Blackwater (ranked 358 p4p, 326 weight class). Blackwater is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by A$AP Rocky - Everyday. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Flex fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Blackwater, pushing him back against the cage.
Blackwater wants to break the clinch but can't.
Flex fails to pull guard.
Blackwater is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Flex is keeping busy.
Blackwater is trying to push Flex away but Flex has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Blackwater tries to circle away but Flex has him pinned against the cage.

Blackwater's coach down at Elite Boxing Club was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Blackwater's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Blackwater unleashes a big counter combination but Flex bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Thor Flex seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Blackwater cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Flex jumps guard and drags Blackwater to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Flex working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Blackwater doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Blackwater manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Blackwater must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Flex isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Blackwater stacks Flex on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Blackwater!

Flex is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Blackwater is aware though and is defending well.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Blackwater really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Flex. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Flex is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Blackwater is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Flex gets his way!

Blackwater is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Flex off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
What can Blackwater do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Oh Flex is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Blackwater lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Flex goes down and covers up as Blackwater starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!

Lorenz Blackwater decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
