This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 3 losses; Crush Bandicoot! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Kamenev moves into the clinch successfully.
Kamenev drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bandicoot pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kamenev closes the distance and clinches. Bandicoot is pressed up against the ropes. Kamenev has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bandicoot down to the mat. Bandicoot avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Bandicoot shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kamenev but Kamenev pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kamenev is looking to counter the offense by Bandicoot and move into the clinch. Bandicoot shoots in and bounces Kamenev off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Kamenev (0) vs (2) Bandicoot Bandicoot stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kamenev swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bandicoot got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kamenev has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bandicoot has managed to get both his arms back between Kamenev's legs - danger averted. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bandicoot trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kamenev looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bandicoot stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kamenev swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bandicoot is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kamenev is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kamenev has escaped and now he's on top! That's one minute gone in the round. Kamenev slips nicely into half guard. Bandicoot looking for submissions off his back. Bandicoot is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kamenev pulls his head out easily. Bandicoot looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Kamenev is looking for a kimura here.
Kamenev wants to pass to mount but Bandicoot is defending the position. Kamenev uses his free foot to push down on Bandicoot's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bandicoot. Score +3 for passing guard: Kamenev (5) vs (2) Bandicoot
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Bandicoot is trying desperately to improve position. Kamenev has control of Bandicoot's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bandicoot regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Bandicoot is trying to escape the mount.
Kamenev tries to control but Bandicoot wriggling away. Kamenev working for a guillotine from mount but Bandicoot is in no mood to give up. Bandicoot can't escape the position.
Kamenev fails to move to back control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kamenev is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Bandicoot has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Kamenev trying to control but he's not successful this time. Kamenev prevents Bandicoot from getting the reversal. Kamenev can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bandicoot is looking to escape. Bandicoot is trying desperately to improve position. Bandicoot is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Bandicoot manages to regain half guard. Good work. Kamenev is pressing down on Bandicoot's thigh, looking to free his foot. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Kamenev pushes a forearm under Bandicoot's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Bandicoot is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
