The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Fiachna closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Orion (0) vs (4) Fiachna
Fiachna tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Fiachna working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Fiachna looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Orion tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Fiachna wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We've been hearing good reports from Orion's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Fiachna is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Orion defends it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
