Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Gracie misses with a takedown and Kamenev counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kamenev. Kamenev manages to pull guard.
Kamenev wants to sweep here but Gracie controlling him for the moment. Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Kamenev is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Kamenev looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Gracie is not content to let Kamenev control the position. Gracie actively working from the bottom here. Kamenev is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
