Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Steve Louis (ranked 3973 p4p, 3725 weight class) and Chris Wilson (ranked 227 p4p, 213 weight class). Wilson has chosen The Final Countdown as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Louis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Wilson! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Louis scores with a push kick. Wilson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Louis defends well and Wilson ends up having to push Louis into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Louis changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. We've been hearing reports that Louis has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Wilson gets tackled into the cage by Louis. Louis maintains the clinch. Louis gets control of Wilson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Louis will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Wilson throws an elbow that misses. Louis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wilson's guard. Nice move by Louis! Louis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wilson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wilson trying to keep a closed guard but Louis is proving a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Louis passes easily into side control. Nice work. Wilson gets back to half guard. Louis trying to control the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilson wants to improve his position but Louis is controlling well.
Louis trying to control the pace. Wilson felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Louis has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Wilson is looking to control Louis's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wilson avoid being mounted? Louis content to control rather than advance. Louis trying to mount his opponent but Wilson defends it. Louis trying to control the action but Wilson is working from the bottom. Louis slows the pace down in half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilson shoots in looking for a takedown but Louis manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wilson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Nice takedown defense from Louis. No joy for Wilson on that attempt. Steve Louis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Wilson. Wilson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Wilson misses with a takedown attempt and Louis holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Louis has Wilson pressed against the cage, preventing Wilson from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Louis has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Wilson is trying to keep an underhook but Louis manages to get the takedown into half guard. Louis looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Louis prevents Wilson from improving his position. Louis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wilson is just riding it out for now. Louis eventually gives up the hold. Still in half guard, Louis seems content to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wilson is refusing to be controlled, as Louis sits in half guard. Louis controlling the action here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Wilson wants to control but Louis is keeping busy and won't allow it. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Louis dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Louis gets a double leg takedown into Wilson's guard. Wilson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Louis escapes and throws Wilson's legs to the side, diving into side control! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wilson wants to control but Louis postures up. Louis is working to tighten his grip on Wilson's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Wilson has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Louis is really squeezing tight and eventually Wilson passes out! Louis breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
