Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cael Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Hickey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cael Liddell could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Sean Hickey's chin.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cael Liddell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Hickey! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Steve Montenegro and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Liddell lands an overhand right.
It looks like Sean Hickey has been cut. Hickey swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Liddell ducks right into an uppercut from Hickey.
It looks like Cael Liddell has been cut. No luck with that takedown attempt from Hickey. Hickey shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Liddell's guard. Hickey throws a strike but Liddell rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Hickey has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hickey looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hickey has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Liddell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Liddell slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Hickey. Liddell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hickey on the ground. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hickey strikes from the bottom but Liddell passes into mount!

Hickey is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Liddell jumps into side control! Liddell moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Liddell throws an elbow but Hickey slips to the side and avoids it well. Liddell scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Liddell cracks Hickey with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Liddell lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hickey circles away quickly and effectively.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liddell leaves Hickey with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Liddell will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Liddell pushing down on Hickey's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Hickey is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hickey has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Liddell escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Liddell! Hickey tries to buck Liddell off but Liddell is having none of it. Hickey is trying to work for a sweep but Liddell has mounted him!
