Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jerry Hammerstein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tommy Chang!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammerstein is looking to clinch but Chang is avoiding it.
Hammerstein backing away here, and Chang unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Hammerstein jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Hammerstein cracks Chang with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Hammerstein tries for a takedown but Chang circles away easily
and Chang counters with a leg kick.
Hammerstein steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Chang. That one must have hurt.
Jerry Hammerstein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hammerstein tries to clinch but Chang moves out of range.
Hammerstein looks to throw the jab but Chang is out of range.
A nice leg kick from Chang, right into the meat of the thigh.
Chang paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chang takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Chang walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Hammerstein checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Chang drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Chang swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hammerstein is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Chang.
The crowd cheers as Chang lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hammerstein doesn't seem phased though.

and Chang counters with a good low kick that Hammerstein was not able to check.
Hammerstein misses with a hook.
Hammerstein walks forward, straight into a front kick from Chang.
Hammerstein swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hammerstein misses with a straight left.
Hammerstein throws a big shot that misses.
Chang misses with a looping right.
Hammerstein tries to close the distance and clinch but Chang swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Chang looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Chang slips under a jab.
Chang misses with a kick to the body

and Hammerstein counters with a takedown into side control.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Chang is looking for a sweep.
Chang is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Chang has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Hammerstein is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Chang is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Chang is not content to let Hammerstein control the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chang wants to control but Hammerstein postures up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Chang is trying to improve his position.

Hammerstein trying to control the action but Chang is working from the bottom.

Hammerstein is trying to get an arm triangle but Chang is defending well.
Chang tries to bench press Hammerstein off him but Hammerstein keeps the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Chang lands with a straight right. Hammerstein didn't see that one coming.
Chang misses with a low kick as Hammerstein jumps back.

Hammerstein feints and as Chang raises his hands in defense, Hammerstein changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hammerstein got a little sloppy there for a moment and Chang has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hammerstein has managed to get both his arms back between Chang's legs - danger averted.

Hammerstein avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Chang escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hammerstein gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Chang is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hammerstein pulls his head out easily.

Hammerstein looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Chang looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Chang is refusing to be controlled, as Hammerstein sits in half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hammerstein is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Chang is concentrating on defense, preventing Hammerstein from advancing position.
Hammerstein wants to control but Chang is keeping him busy.
Chang wants to get back to full guard but Hammerstein has passed into side control.
Hammerstein is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Chang can do to turn this around?

Hammerstein is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Chang is trying to escape and Hammerstein transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Chang is forced to tap! Nice work there by Hammerstein! Very nice indeed!
