The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brook with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Von Deusenberg to score with a decent uppercut.
It looks like Sunny Brook has been cut. Von Deusenberg tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brook swats him away and circles back towards the center. Von Deusenberg moves in looking to clinch but Brook pushes him off. Von Deusenberg tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. The fight stays on the outside here - Von Deusenberg looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Brook scores a takedown into full mount! A nice elbow there by Brook. Von Deusenberg is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Brook is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Brook breaks from Von Deusenberg's wrist control and lands an elbow. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Brook won't let Von Deusenberg get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Brook unloading with bombs! Brook has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Brook lands a big shot there that rocks Von Deusenberg but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Brook looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Brook is trying to take his opponent's back.
Von Deusenberg's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Von Deusenberg knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brook on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee warns Von Deusenberg that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Brook jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Von Deusenberg manages to avoid the submission attempt. Brook looks gassed! Von Deusenberg is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Brook looks up at the clock and then as Von Deusenberg takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Brook smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Brook is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Von Deusenberg looks calm but he's in trouble here. Brook gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Von Deusenberg is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Brook lets go of the hold and Von Deusenberg can pop his arm back in it's socket.
