Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kiribayama Tetsuo (ranked 6427 p4p, 25314 weight class) and India Best (ranked 233 p4p, 251 weight class). India Best is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kiribayama Tetsuo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 9 - 0, fighting out of The Island, India Best!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Best shoots and misses

and Tetsuo counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Best is trying to control but can't.
Best is staying active underneath Tetsuo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Best trying to control here.
Best keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Tetsuo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Best is looking to improve his position.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Tetsuo seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Best blocks a head kick by Tetsuo.
Best is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Tetsuo shoots for a double leg takedown but Best sprawls well. He's pushed Tetsuo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Tetsuo has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Best uses from the top position.

Tetsuo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Best defends well.

Best in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Best gets to his feet - Tetsuo follows without any prompting.

Tetsuo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Best's half guard.

Best makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Tetsuo is looking to take a break and control but Best is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Tetsuo wants to take a breather but Best manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Tetsuo.

Tetsuo throws a big elbow that misses.
Tetsuo looking to sit in guard and control but Best gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Best has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tetsuo is proving hard to escape from.

Tetsuo is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Best tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Tetsuo breaks from the clinch.
Tetsuo dives in for a single leg takedown but Best sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Best looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

Best trying to control the position but instead, Tetsuo has worked for underhooks and has pushed Best into the cage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kiribayama Tetsuo dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Tetsuo manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Best on his heels. He'll look to pass Best's guard now, I'm sure.
Tetsuo is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Tetsuo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Best swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tetsuo throws a sloppy strike and Best has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Tetsuo is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Best!
