PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Small Dayton (ranked 367 p4p, 2727 weight class) and Tukya Downe (ranked 34 p4p, 223 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Downe's choice of entrance music: AC/DC - Shoot to Thrill. Tukya Downe will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Downe looks for a takedown but Dayton sprawls well.

Dayton gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Downe to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Downe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dayton swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dayton definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Dayton wants to sweep here but Downe controlling him for the moment.

Downe must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dayton is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Downe throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Downe fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Small Dayton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tukya Downe.
Downe shoots in looking for a takedown. Dayton tries to sprawl out of it but Downe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dayton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Dayton attempts a counter takedown but Downe avoids it well and moves away.

Downe closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Dayton is trying to control but can't.
Dayton is staying active underneath Downe, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Dayton slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Dayton thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Dayton is trying to keep Downe in close.

Downe content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Dayton has locked up a guillotine! Dayton 's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Downe is holding on here and Dayton must be using up a lot of energy. Downe has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Dayton gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Small Dayton !

A relieved looking Small Dayton thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Tukya Downe was interviewed post fight and said 'What a scam!!!'.
