Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Pulizzi (ranked 3384 p4p, 3963 weight class) and Gunnar Goransson (ranked 480 p4p, 532 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joe Pulizzi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gunnar Goransson! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Santiago Holmes and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch lands to the side of Goransson 's head but he takes it in his stride. Pulizzi looks to land a combination but Goransson avoids it well. And Goransson tries to counter it with a takedown but Pulizzi pushes his down on his head and steps out. Pulizzi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pulizzi definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Goransson misses with a takedown and Pulizzi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Goransson ducks right into an uppercut from Pulizzi. Pulizzi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Goransson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Goransson looking to score a takedown here. Pulizzi is defending well but Goransson drives through and ends up in Pulizzi's guard. Goransson forces his way into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Goransson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pulizzi tries to get to full guard but Goransson has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pulizzi is looking to escape. Goransson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Pulizzi has hold of Goransson's hands but Goransson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Pulizzi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Goransson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Goransson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. That's two minutes gone in the round. Goransson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pulizzi's head. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Goransson connects with a nice short shot to Pulizzi's temple. Pulizzi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Goransson on the ground. Pulizzi is looking for a sweep. Goransson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Pulizzi wants to control but Goransson is keeping busy and won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pulizzi avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Goransson. Goransson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Ground and pound from Goransson. Goransson is looking for a kimura here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Goransson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Goransson passes to full mount! Pulizzi is looking to improve his position but Goransson isn't that keen on the idea. Goransson putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Goransson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Pulizzi can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Goransson throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Pulizzi because Goransson loaded up on that one. Pulizzi wants to control but Goransson is having none of it. Goransson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Goransson working for a submission but Pulizzi is keeping him at bay. Goransson avoids the attempt from Pulizzi to control. Goransson pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Goransson unloads with some shots from mount but Pulizzi bucks and avoids them well.
Goransson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Pulizzi is surviving well by controlling Goransson's body position as best he can. Goransson working for a guillotine from mount but Pulizzi is in no mood to give up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pulizzi bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Goransson has an active guard here but Pulizzi has managed to pass into half guard.
Pulizzi seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Goransson tries to get to full guard but Pulizzi has control of the leg. Goransson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pulizzi pulls his head out easily. Goransson looking for submissions off his back. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Gunnar Goransson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Pulizzi stuffs the takedown. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Pulizzi. Goransson dives in and grabs Pulizzi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pulizzi pushes down on Goransson's head and hops out. Pulizzi throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Goransson sees it coming and avoids it easily. Goransson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Pulizzi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Goransson is rocked! BAM! Pulizzi delivers a spinning backfist that drops Goransson like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
