PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between whats that aboot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terrence James Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexander is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bow Down-Westside Connection. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, whats that aboot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Terrence James Alexander!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexander fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
aboot tries to clinch up.

Alexander rushes aboot and presses him up against the cage.
Alexander is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Alexander jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as aboot walks away with a smile on his face. Alexander gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
aboot throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Alexander shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Alexander showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alexander trying to control the action but aboot is working from the bottom.
Alexander scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
aboot is refusing to be controlled, as Alexander sits in half guard.

Alexander wants to lay and pray for a moment but aboot keeps working.

Alexander is nestled in close to aboot, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
aboot tries to clinch but Alexander moves away

and Alexander counters with a shoot takedown. aboot fights it but they end up in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
aboot is looking to stand up but Alexander isn't so interested in that idea.
Alexander trying to control the position from guard on top but aboot is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
aboot is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Alexander won't allow aboot to get back to his feet.

Alexander postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Alexander trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Alexander works over aboot with some ground and pound from guard.
Alexander throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as aboot works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Alexander closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Alexander passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for aboot!
Alexander tries to control but aboot wriggling away.
Alexander fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Alexander is landing with some decent strikes but aboot is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Alexander pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
aboot tries to hold on but Alexander postures up.
Alexander cracks aboot with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
aboot takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
aboot is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Alexander pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
aboot is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
aboot regains half guard.
aboot avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Alexander.

Terrence James Alexander dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Alexander keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Alexander is looking to get back to full guard here but aboot has managed to pass to side control instead.

Alexander tries to lock up and control but aboot gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
aboot looking to control but Alexander is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Alexander sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

aboot in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Alexander tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from aboot!
