Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tim Timber (ranked 3273 p4p, 3052 weight class) and Richard James (ranked 394 p4p, 373 weight class). Timber comes to the cage accompanied by 99 Luftballons - Nena. Richard James told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tim Timber! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Richard James! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Timber throws a hook but James avoids it easily. It seemed like James was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Timber staying out of range there. Timber fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
James is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Timber. Timber tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but James defends well and Timber ends up having to push James into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. James blocks an uppercut.
James lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. James prevents Timber from breaking the clinch. James lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Timber backwards. Timber is trying to pull guard but James turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. James looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. James scores with a hook to the body. Timber is trying to maintain a safe position but James gets an underhook and turns Timber into the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A short uppercut from James. Timber is trying to push James away but James has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Timber trying to stall but James improves his position.

That's one minute gone in the round. James digs a right hand into Timber's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Timber's gas tank. James scores with a shot to the side of Timber's head. James lands a left hand that snaps the head of Timber backwards. James breaks the clinch.
Timber looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. James ducks down and throws a hook to the body. James throws a monster overhand right that drops Timber! James follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Richard James! Richard James is the new middleweight champion! A victorious Richard James thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
